Hypnotherapy, Massage, and Herbs: 5 Natural Ways to Fight Insomnia

Insomnia can put a damper on the rest of your waking hours, especially if it's been going on for some time. You spend the day fighting tiredness, but when you get home, you start fretting about being able to fall asleep with no problem. Before you know, it's 3 AM and you're still tossing and turning.

How can you break free from this downward spiral of restless sleep, or no sleep at all? Fortunately, there are various ways to help you get the sleep you need. Also, you don't have to worry about becoming dependent on sleeping pills. From hypnotherapy South Australia to dark therapy, these methods are all natural.

1. Regular exercise. Working out several hours before bed can help improve the quality of sleep in people with regular circadian rhythms. So, it follows that the same can help you drift off to sleep at night. Yoga and tai chi are great before-bed workouts because they help get rid of excess energy while relaxing you at the same time.

2. Herbal supplements. Certain herbs have been said to be able to bring on drowsiness and help people stay asleep. Some examples are passionflower, valerian root, and chamomile, which people tend to take in as tea.

3. Massage. Even a 30-minute rubdown helps to release serotonin – the feel-good chemical. Once released, it helps you feel more relaxed until, eventually, you fall asleep. It has the additional benefit of helping your body tap into its own healing abilities.

4. Scototherapy. Also known as dark therapy or light restriction, this involves lessening the amount of light in the environment. Primarily, the focus is on eliminating blue and blue-green light, which have been shown to act as visual stimulants.

Lessening the amount of light in a room signals the body to start producing melatonin, which is meant to make you feel drowsy. The earlier this hormone kicks in, the easier you'll be able to sleep once the clock strikes 10 or 11 PM.

5. Hypnosis. This practice can help you form new beliefs about getting a good night's sleep. You'll likely meet with a therapist first, with a hypnosis product (usually a CD) coming into play later, so you can listen to it whenever you wish. The more you'll expect a full  night's rest, the more likely it is to happen.

The Different Categories Of Anxiety Disorders

Anxiety disorders come in different forms, and have varying degrees of severity. According to mental health and hypnotherapy for depression Adelaide experts, the 4 main categories include panic disorders, social anxiety disorders, specific phobias and generalized anxiety disorders. Those who suffer from panic disorders often encounter feelings of intense terror that come without warning. The symptoms include palpitations, chest pain, a feeling of choking and sweating.

For social anxiety disorders, victims often feel a tidal wave of worrying and self-consciousness with regard to everyday social situations. The extreme fear often centers on the uneasiness of being judged by other people, or the fear of embarrassing themselves in public.

A phobia is described as an overwhelming and intense fear of a specific thing, situation or circumstance, like the fear of snakes, flying or being in cramped spaces. This often causes the person to avoid certain situations or objects. The treatment for phobias and fears varies, with some doctors prescribing medications, while others prefer doing counseling, and some even use innovative methods like hypnotherapy courses Adelaide.

Common Signs & Symptoms Of Anxiety Disorders

The general, and most observed, symptoms of anxiety disorders include insomnia and other sleep problems, a feeling of uneasiness or panic, cold sweats, shortness of breath, palpitations, a dry mouth, dizziness and muscle tension.

Nevertheless, what causes this extreme fear or worry to suddenly come out of nowhere? According to hypnotherapy in Adelaide adherents, anxiety could be the direct or indirect result of a poor family upbringing or character issues and flaws. These could also be due to environmental stress or trauma, and sudden changes in the brain (or problems in the functioning of brain circuits that regulate fear and other emotions).

Herbs & Natural Ingredients That Are Proven To Ward off Anxiety

For those who prefer treating illnesses the natural way, there are actually a lot of herbal or plant-based options to choose from. One of the most popular anti-anxiety herbal treatments is green tea. According to professional botanists, Japanese Buddhist monks have for centuries taken green tea, which gives them the ability to meditate for hours, and still stay alert and focused.

Green tea contains high levels of a compound called L-theanine, which has been noted to lower blood pressure and heart rate, and thus reduce anxiety.  Valerian is also greatly used for treating anxiety attacks. It is however considered a sedative, which is why it’s approved by many doctors for treating insomnia.

Passionflower is an herb that’s been proven to help lessen anxiety symptoms as effectively as the common over-the-counter drugs. It can however cause drowsiness and sleepiness, so do not take it when you’re already taking another prescription sedative.

Lemon balm (Melissa officinalis) has been used for thousands of years to induce sleep, and lessen the symptoms of anxiety and stress. In one recent study, volunteers who were given 600 mg of standardized lemon balm extracts became more relaxed and alert, as compared to those who only took a placebo.

Apart from using these herbal treatments, health & wellness, and even hypnotherapy Adelaide experts, also suggest that you regularly exercise and do Yoga exercises. Yoga’s exercises and breathing techniques (like the 4-7-8 breath method and others) have been noted to effectively lower stress and anxiety, as well as soothe the senses.

Losing excess weight is not an easy process. Everyone wants to drop pounds the easy way. You're not the only one who's tired of extreme workouts, strict diets, and limited food choices. Fish recipes, hypnosis product, popcorn – better check out these tricks!

1. Relieve bloating. Eating too much of salty foods such as chips, and hot dogs, can make you look and feel puffy. This is because salt retains extra amounts of liquid. Make your own natural diuretic by mixing a half sliced cucumber, ¼ cup parsley and 1 tbsp lemon juice. This can trick your body to let go of excess liquid, making you feel refreshed.

2. Burn fat with fish. Here's a more natural fat-burning supplement, fish and seafoods! Practice adding more salmon, shrimp and other seafood to your meals. This boosts your body's fat burning ability and enhances endurance. It's because of a powerful antioxidant called astaxanthin, which also gives fish and shrimps it's pink colour.

3. Divide and dine. Hypnotherapy experts in Adelaide shares a simple method to trick the mind into eating less and it involves dividing your food into smaller packages. They explained that partitioning food makes you more aware of how much you're consuming. Thus, it prevents you from eating larger portions. Use plastic baggies, and containers.

4. Popping your fat. If you're looking for a new comfort food, go for popcorn. Research revealed that eating the fluffy snack can get you 250 percent more of whole grains and 22 percent more of fibre. Popcorn also prevents blood sugar from spiking and then crashing thus making you feel full for a longer period. Avoid too much butter and salt though.

5. Imagine yourself slim. Snack attacks often happen in the afternoon. To fight it, try to think about what you had for lunch. Remembering what you ate activates your hippocampus. This enhances your decision to say no to consuming extra calories. If you don't have a good memory, jot down everything in your food diary, or take photos of them!

Weight loss methods are no longer centred on exercise (although it's still good for you) and crash diets. There are other natural ways that are safe and effective. Hypnotherapy South Australia is now becoming popular as a means to train the mind into eating less.

Gastric Banding Surgery and Its Effectiveness In Achieving Weight Loss

Of all the current public health issues, obesity is perhaps one of the most distressing concerns. Many health experts agree that morbid obesity is a disease that has associations with other major illnesses, and is also associated with a major decrease in life expectancy. With diet, exercise and medications deemed ineffective, bariatric surgery (including “gastric band” surgery) is now viewed as the most potent long-term approach. Let’s take a look at gastric band surgery, and its effectiveness in achieving successful weight loss.

Image from: iclipart.com
How The Method Works

In gastric band surgery, a surgeon utilises laparoscopy, or a surgical procedure wherein a fiber-optic instrument is inserted through the abdominal wall, so the doctor could view the internal organs, and safely perform the procedure. According to hypnotherapy weight loss Adelaide experts, an adjustable silicone band is placed around the stomach’s upper part. Once the silicone band is squeezed, the stomach is turned into a pouch with an inch-wide outlet, and will only be able to hold about an ounce of food.

A plastic tube connects the silicone band to a device placed just under the skin, where saline can be injected or removed through the skin, and flows in or out of the silicone band. The saline injection tightens or loosens the gastric band, helps reduce the side effects, and helps the person successfully achieve weight loss too.

Who Are Qualified To Undergo The Procedure?

According to health experts and hypnotherapy for weight loss Adelaide practitioners, the individual can be a candidate for gastric band surgery if he or she meets the following conditions. These conditions include – having more than 100 lbs., having a BMI or Body Mass Index of over 40, having a BMI of over 35 and suffering from diabetes or high blood pressure at the same time.

The qualified individual must also be between 16 to 70 years old, and should not get pregnant within the first eighteen months to two years following surgery. The reason for this is that the sudden weight loss and the other nutritional deficiencies associated with the surgery can make pregnancy perilous and unsafe, both for the mother and her developing fetus.

What Are The Expected Results?

According to how to reverse obesity Adelaide observers, gastric band surgery can lead to a loss of around forty percent in excess body weight. This means that a person who is 200 pounds overweight can expect to shed around 80 pounds a week or two after the procedure.

The results however vary with each individual, although the procedure is deemed to be the least invasive (and one of the safest) weight loss procedures. However, there have been a couple of negative side effects noted with the surgical method.

What Are The Potential Side Effects?

While the risks of dying due to gastric band surgery is just one in two thousand cases, there have been a couple of problems noted with the procedure.

These include a “band slip”, or a complication wherein the band allows the stomach to slip underneath it. This problem is characterised by stomach pain and difficulty vomiting, and will require quick attention because the blood supply to the stomach could be threatened.

The other common side effects include nausea and vomiting (which can be alleviated by adjusting the band’s tightness), wound infections, minor bleeding, and problems with adjusting the device.

In some cases, patients experienced intolerance to certain food items (including breads, nuts and fibrous meat). In a few cases, food gets stuck in the band, and the patient will vomit and experience slight discomfort until the food passes through.

The Patient Should Experience Gradual Weight Loss

The expected level or amount of weight loss after undergoing gastric band surgery is often gradual, where the patient could expect an average weight loss of half a kilogram per week. The long-term goal however, is to lose an average of sixty-five percent of excess body weight over two years.

According to Ultra Lite Weight and Health Management Program Adelaide adherents, gastric band surgery requires a major change in the person’s dietary habits, and it’s also a very restrictive method, which can be bypassed by consuming high-calorie soft food or liquids. The band will also need a number of adjustments, which are done postoperatively, so that the person can achieve the optimum setting.

Top 3 Ways to Lower Blood Pressure, Naturally

All over the world, waistlines are growing bigger, and obesity-related conditions are stacking up. Even if you look slim, you could still have more fat than you need on you. That means, you're still at risk for any number of concerns having to do with being overweight. One of these is high blood pressure.

Usually, learning how to reverse obesity Adelaide is enough to control and thus lower your blood pressure before it strays into high-risk territory. The best part? You don't need medication in order to do so.

1. Regular exercise. This is at the top of the list when it comes to keeping blood pressure at safe levels. Light to moderate exercises such as jogging, walking, or yoga, are good places to start, especially if you haven't been active recently.

Make sure, though, that you don't fall victim to the “weekend warrior” syndrome. To be really effective, your workout routine has to be spread out among the days of the week. Exercising 5 out of 7 days is a good place to be, but so is working out every other day.

2. Healthy diet. Fad diets aren't the way to go, because they don't work for everyone. To be safe, stock up on fruits and veggies, whole grains, and low-fat milk and cheese. Vitamins and minerals, plus fibre will help you tap into your body's healing powers. Not to mention help you get rid of toxins.

Cut back on tobacco, alcohol, and caffeine, and drink plenty of water. Occasional treats are okay, as long as you don't overdo it. Sounds too simple to be true? That means its simpler to break, so keep a food diary if you need to keep track of your eating habits.

3. Less stress. Both this and anxiety can often have a negative effect on your blood pressure, so taking some time to think about what's causing the stress can help ease it some. Acknowledge the causes, but don't dwell on them.

You can also try taking a more proactive approach when faced with possible causes of stress, instead of playing the victim. Hate the traffic on the way to work? Leave home earlier to avoid it. Find an alternate flight if your first one gets cancelled. Using a hypnosis product to help you stay relaxed or handle stress better can help, too.

3 Surprising Lessons A Musician Can Teach You

A musician's life is not that easy. Struggles are there – putting them down, tempting them to let go, and discouraging them to persevere. It might be easy for you to think that the journey isn't a big deal. Nonetheless, there is truly more to it than meets the eye.

My overweight sister, who currently is in Adelaide to undergo hypnotherapy for weight loss, complimented me last week for being a musician. I just don't know why. She just said that she learned the advantages of being a musician while taking up hypnotherapy courses in Adelaide.

Until now, I am puzzled on why she said such as thing. Nevertheless, here are 3 personal lessons that a musician, like me, can teach you:

1. Passionate, Disciplined, Dedicated, and Focused

Mastering an instrument never happens over night! Hence, musicians remain faithful to their instrument and are able to take the long haul (whatever happens!). However, if you think practising an instrument is always fun, you're wrong. The truth is, there are times that musicians still practice even on days when they're not feeling well.

What pushes them? Their passion and dedication. It's believing that all the hard work will pay off someday!

2. Being in a team or a group is more powerful than being alone

Truth be told, “No man is an island.” This concept has been proven by numerous individuals, musicians or not. Musicians know that they need a group or somebody that can teach them to become “great”. They simply know that the world they're living with is tough and sometimes unfavourable hence the need of another.

3. Don't be afraid to err! Let go of past mistakes and move on

Musical artists know how to let go of past mistakes and still keep on playing. Of course, they hate it; that's why  they opt to forget and learn from them instead.

If they commit error in the middle of a show, the music must go on, regardless! This too then applies to life in general. It's like letting go of the moment, then reviewing what happened to avoid any unfaithful circumstances in the future.

Nevertheless, they still love to take a risk and aren't afraid to commit mistakes especially if it aims to boost their knowledge, skills, and musical repertoire.

Share this article with your friends!

Never forget to apply these 3 lessons in your life. You've been presented; embrace these!

Thanks to my sister. Best of LUCK to her sessions in hypnotherapy in Adelaide and hypnosis product.
